Initial Consultation - LMIT Counselling
Action: Before proceeding with LMIT treatment, a counselling session with Dr. Nick Lolatgis is essential.
Preliminary Investigations: Your IVF or fertility specialist will first conduct necessary preliminary investigations.
Referral to Dr. Lolatgis: Based on the findings, your specialist may refer you to Dr. Lolatgis for further guidance.
Consultation Details: During the consultation, Dr. Lolatgis will:

Ensure you understand each step and how it supports your fertility journey.
Importance of Consultation: This session is key to ensuring the best possible outcome for your LMIT treatment plan.

LMIT Investigations
Action: Before proceeding with LMIT treatment, both partners must complete the required blood tests:

Syphilis
Test Requirements: These tests must be current within 12 months of the LMIT treatment.

Book Your Appointments
Action: Use our secure portal to schedule your LMIT appointments.

Male Blood Collection:

Schedule this appointment first.

The male partner's blood will be collected first “Day 1”.

The blood sample will be cold-shipped to the lab for processing into LMIT.
-
The processed serum will be shipped back to the practice and will typically arrive 3-4 days after blood collection.

Female LMIT Injection:
-
The female partner will receive the LMIT injection on 3-4 days after the blood collection.

LMIT Blood Collection Appointment
Action: Attend the male blood collection appointment at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (Southport, QLD) or one of our regional/interstate collection centres.
Blood Collection: The male partner’s blood will be collected.
Processing: The blood will be processed at the pathology lab.
Shipping: The processed blood will be shipped to Melbourne for LMIT serum preparation.
Purpose: This step is crucial for creating the LMIT serum required for treatment.

Female LMIT Injection
Action: Attend our Infusion Centre (Parkwood, Gold Coast, QLD) for the female LMIT injection.
Details:

The LMIT injection is administered to help prepare the immune system for pregnancy.

It is a brief procedure with minimal discomfort.
Timeline:

The injection will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Trying for a Pregnancy
Action: After your 2nd LMIT treatment, you will be ready to try for a pregnancy, whether through embryo transfer or by attempting a spontaneous pregnancy.

The activating dose of LMIT consists of 2 injections, spaced 4 weeks apart.

Both injections are crucial to properly prepare your body for conception, ensuring your immune system is optimally primed for pregnancy.

Follow-Up LMIT Treatments
Action: LMIT boosters will be required following your initial treatment:
LMIT Boosters:

Every 4-5 months to provide ongoing immune support while attempting pregnancy.
LMIT Pregnancy Boosters:

If you achieve a pregnancy, you will need 3 LMIT Pregnancy boosters, spaced 4 weeks apart, to offer additional protection during early pregnancy.
