Microbiome Test for Fertility

What Can the Test Show?

Your vaginal microbiomes contain diverse communities of bacteria, fungi, and other micro-organisms.  This self administering vaginal swab kit includes:

  • Clinically validated collection materials

  • Step-by-step patient instructions

  • Postage to and from the lab

  • Secure laboratory report shared with your nominated provider

The results may detect:

​

  • Relative levels of Lactobacillus and other microbial species

  • Presence of common bacterial, fungal, or parasitic organisms

  • Indicators of microbiome imbalance (dysbiosis)
     

These results are intended for clinical interpretation only and must be reviewed by a qualified health professional. Your healthcare provider may suggest microbiome screening in certain contexts, such as:

What to Expect?

Patient-Initiated Test

  1. Order your Microbiome Screening Kit

  2. You will receive your Microbiome Screening Kit by post

  3. Collect sample at home using the kit and instructions provided

  4. Post it to the lab within 7 days (prepaid envelope included)

  5. A secure report is sent to both you and your provider within 15 business days

Healthcare Provider-Initiated Test

  1. Kit is sent directly to the clinic

  2. Sample is collected using the kit and instructions provided

  3. Return kit to the lab within 7 days

  4. Report is sent to both provider and patient

We recommend completing the test at least 8–12 weeks before active conception planning, if advised by your fertility provider.

  • A summary of detected microbiome organisms

  • Reference data for clinical review 

  • Optional considerations for your provider,  to evaluarte in context (e.g. antibiotics/ probiotics or further assessments) . All next steps are to be directed by your medical team.
